On February 22, 2020, the 8th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) came to a successful end, and the online activities with the theme of “Never Ending Mineral and Gem Expo” were in full swing.
In order to overcome the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Chenzhou changed the traditional single offline exhibition mode, integrating online and offline platforms. By means of the 5G plus 3D panoramic, VR and other new technologies, the online platform relies on the new CMGE app to create a virtual exhibition hall, displaying the tourmaline, rhodochrosite, fluorite, malachite, native gold, aragonite and other collection from home and abroad in multi-angle and three-dimension levels.
In order to create an “Never Ending Mineral and Gem Expo”, the exhibition lasted all year round. Meanwhile, the offline opening ceremony, mineral and gem exhibition, forum and promotion activities were held in Chenzhou, where the representatives from the world’s leading mineral crystal industry associations, experts, entrepreneurs, collectors and journalists shared this expo together.
Since the launch of the CMGE app on December 12, 2020, it has received 329 registered merchants with 6.55 million visits, 452,000 downloads of the app and 183,000 followers of the official account. The app is constructed and operated by Chenzhou Development Investment Group.
After completion, it can accommodate more than 3,000 standard booths (merchants), 60 special VR booths, 60 conference ports and more than 35,000 exhibits.
Furthermore, it can perform the value-added service functions such as data collection and analysis, online meeting, online science popularization, O2O identification and customer classification management. It will provide strong support for global mineral and gem display and trading, and effectively expand new opportunities, new space and new path for the development of mineral and gem industry.
